Yeah, so I'm answering the call of the blog siren.    Not sure why - it's not like I write so much that I need another outlet for it.  Maybe this will kick my ass into writing at least something every day.

This is a bit akward...  It's like the first letter to a new penpal, when you have to much to say but you just don't know where to start.  There's no way I'm catching up on the last 26 years, and no way anyone would want to read that, so I guess I'll just dive right in with today.

I went for my semi-regular eyebrow/upper lip waxing today.  I got my tongue pierced about a month ago, and the pain from that was nothing compared to having my upper lip waxed.  OUCH!  The things we go through in an attempt to fit in.  The pain gets me every time.  I always forget between visits just how much it hurts.

I fixed up a corner of the basement for my writing/drawing/crafty stuff.  We had one of those chrome-edged kitchen tables, a book shelf, a chair and a small table (just big enough for my cd player from work) down in the basement, so I arranged them in the corner and stuck curtains over the walls with thumbtacks.  Wow, that sounds awful.  And it may look awful to anyone else, but it's beautiful to me.  Today I went to the dollar store and picked up some candles, a little floor mat and some other odds and ends to clutter it up a bit more.  So, last night was the first time I sat down there.  I wrote for about an hour and then I started working on some plastic canvas mason jar lid inserts.  Really nice to have somewhere to work where I'm not distracted by the tv.

Well...  I'd better leave something to write about tomorrow.
